Our Story of Sri Lankan Recipes and Spices

Hello Friends,

My name is Kalani, and I am the cook and recipe creator of The Perfect Curry blog. I am passionate about using aromatic Sri Lankan spices with authentic Sri Lankan flavors, curries, and simmering sauces. My journey began with a wish to find the flavors I grew up enjoying as a Sri Lankan expat wife but struggled to find the same authentic floral and citrus aromas in the spices available in ethnic grocery stores. I quickly found that if I wanted to cook authentic curries, I had to carry some spices with me or find a way to make them myself from fresh whole spices.

Journey once began expanded from few recipes, to many, from making curries, to spices, and sauces for baking roasting and stir-frying. Any given day I find myself not only cooking with authentic Sri Lankan spices, making vlogs, recipe tips and menus but projects like working on writing posts, editing and taking care of the smallest details like designing this website. I dedicate myself fully to my craft whenever I find a moment—while also caring for my two daughters and my family. Only because The perfect curry blog is about always real story about my passion for making Sri Lankan cooking accessible and fueling my passion for human created content and writing.

The process behind each recipe is thorough and heartfelt. I spend time researching new dishes, testing them in my own kitchen, and refining them until the results are just right. Once perfected, I move on to cooking, photographing, vlogging, and writing out each recipe so that my readers can easily follow along and recreate them at home. Those recipes come alive when I host dinners and lunches for friends and family and share my spices, food, and recipes. Every recipe you find on The Perfect Curry blog is carefully tested and written by me.

In a digital landscape filled with AI-generated and recycled content, I want to keep The Perfect Curry blog as a source of genuine, human-created recipes. I am passionate about cooking and truly enjoy sharing new dishes with my readers. The pleasure I feel is only amplified when I get messages from you after you’ve tried one of my recipes.
