Three easy Sri Lankan salads

Can I tempt you these easy Sri Lankan salads? A salad or tempered greens as a Mallum is an important part of day-to-day rice and curry meal. My mom never failed to add either a Mallum or salad to the menu when she prepared family meals. A salad was an ideal way to add a cooling effect when she made very spicy and rich curries. Mallum on the other hand did help to round up the flavors and bulk up the meal without having to add too much rice.

Most Sri Lankan salads have kick to them with the little spicy green peppers, black pepper, or cayenne pepper. Some of them had seasoned grated coconut mixed in. There are many different vegetable salads in Sri Lankan cuisine, but making of simple salads are summarized in three recipes I am making today.
